This co-created exhibition is the result of a seven-week workshop series in which young participants explored the techniques of Old Master drawings. The initiative forms part of MUŻA’s ongoing project to study its collection of these drawings and make them accessible through an online educational platform.
As part of an outreach effort to raise awareness and appreciation of paper collections among younger audiences, participants studied Old Master drawings from MUŻA’s reserve collection. From this inspiration, they created personal sketchbooks that reinterpret these works and their techniques in an experimental and contemporary way.
Alongside their sketchbooks, the young co-curators have also selected a group of Old Master drawings and works by modern and contemporary artists, inviting viewers to reflect on the evolution of drawing techniques. Together, these dialogues between past and present highlight both the importance of drawing and the fresh perspectives that emerge when young voices engage with museum collections.
